Chemical Property/Description


Black powder, soluble in water, and bordeaux to paddle red; Slightly soluble in alcohol, and brown magenta color;  It is dark blue in concentrated sulfuric acid and light reddish brown after dilution. Its aqueous solution, adding concentrated  has no great change; Add solution and turn brown to magenta. The solubility in water (90ºC) is 25g/L. When dyeing copper, iron, color light influence is greater.



Main Uses:



It is mainly used for dyeing and printing wool fabrics, can also be used for dyeing silk, nylon and other textiles, and can also be used for fur dyeing. Pure products can be used as indicators.

Used as a metal indicator for the determination of Ba2+, Mg2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ and rare earth by EDTA titration.

It is also used for spectrophotometric determination of Co2+, Mg2+, and other metal ions as color developing agents.
