Chemical Property/Description
Dark purple-brown crystalline powder,Stable under normal temperatures and pressures. 




Main Uses:
For gel electrophoresis. Protein staining. Used for dyeing wool, silk, nylon and other fabrics, can also be used for leather, feathers and other dyeing.

Biochemical research. Used to detect protein bands after electrophoresis. 5-10 times more sensitive than NaphtholBlueBlackB and Bromophenol (0.5μg/cm2 of protein can be detected on the gel Chemicalbook matrix). The triphenylmethane dye used for protein analysis in SDS-PAGE can also be widely used in the Bradford protein quantitative reaction.

Acid Blue 83 is used for dyeing wool, silk, nylon, also used for leather, feathers, paper coloring, is a standard blue. Pure color light, good brightness, good dyeing performance, for the common brilliant blue varieties.


Acid dyes are highly soluble in water and have good light fastness compared to simple basic dyes. The acid used in the dye bath is usually vinegar or citric acid. The dye absorption rate is controlled by using sodium chloride. In textiles dyeing, acid dyes are effective for dyeing protein fibers, for example, animal hair fibers such as wool, alpaca, and mohair. They are also effective for silk and nylon dyeing but have minimum interest in dyeing any other synthetic fibers.
