Chemical Property/Description:

 

Red to dark red uniform particles or powder, odorless. Light resistance, good acid resistance, strong heat resistance (105ºC), poor reduction resistance; Poor bacterial tolerance.

Soluble in water, the aqueous solution is red; Soluble in glycerol, slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in oil; Maximum absorption wavelength 508nm±2nm. Stable to citric acid and tartaric acid; It turns brown on alkali. The coloring property is similar to amaranth.

 

Main Uses:

 

Acid Red 18 as a food coloring can be used for fruit juice drinks, prepared wine, carbonated beverages, candy, pastries, ice cream, yogurt and other food coloring, but can not be used in jerky, meat preserved products, aquatic products and other foods, mainly to prevent some criminals through the use of color to cover up the appearance of bad raw meat such as spoiled meat.

Preparation of carminic acid, integral staining in embryology, nuclear staining, titration solution indicators, microscopic analysis, fluorescence analysis, coloring of dyes, food, etc. It can be used for calibration and standardization of synthetic pigment detection methods in food, and can also be used as a working standard for daily analysis and detection.
