N-acetyl-L-leucine is a white or off white crystalline powder, soluble in water, and mainly used as an organic intermediate.
N-acetyl-L-leucine has a wide range of applications, covering multiple fields such as medicine, food, agriculture, etc., as follows:
1. Pharmaceutical field
Treatment of neurodegenerative diseases: Clinical studies have shown that it can improve neurological symptoms and signs in patients with Niman Pick disease type C by regulating lysosomal and metabolic dysfunction.
Improvement of central nervous system function: accelerates the recovery of balance function after vestibular injury and may alleviate emotional problems such as anxiety and depression.
Metabolic regulation and nutritional supplementation: Inhibit liver fat synthesis, promote tissue repair in postoperative or burn patients, and meet the body's demand for amino acids.
2. Food industry
Flavor enhancers and seasonings: enhance the freshness and flavor of food, with an added amount of 0.01%~0.03% (such as soy sauce, monosodium glutamate) or 0.1~0.5g/kg (for meat products).
3. Agriculture and Feed
Plant growth regulators: promote crop growth, commonly used at concentrations of 50-100ppm.
Animal feed additives: enhance immunity and protein synthesis, with an added amount of 0.1% to 0.2%.
4. Chemical and Industrial
Pharmaceutical intermediates: used for the synthesis of alkaloids, and other drugs.
Essence and spice raw materials: used in cosmetics, with moisturizing and antioxidant functions.
5. Other applications
Pesticide intermediates: auxiliary components in the synthesis of some pesticides.
