Chemical Property/Description:

 

1. Reddish purple crystalline powder with green metallic luster. It can form various color complexes with many cations.

2.soluble in hot water, slightly soluble in cold water, almost insoluble in ethanol and ether. Its aqueous solution is dark purple and varies with pH, dark blue in alkaline solutions and colorless in acidic solutions. Aqueous solution deteriorates easily.

3. melting point > 300ºC. Maximum absorption wavelength (water) 520nm.

1. Chemical reagent: It can be used as a metal ion precipitation reagent, and can also be used for precipitation analysis in analytical chemistry and biochemical experiments.
