Thenoyltrifluoroacetone  is a colorless to yellowish liquid.
Slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in organic solvents. The ratio of acid water to benzene is about 40. In alkaline aqueous media, it exists in the form of enolates, which are relatively soluble in water. The equilibrium partition ratio between benzene and alkaline aqueous medium (about pH 8) is about 1. In alkaline aqueous media with pH> 9, TTA decomposes into acetothiophene.
