Name | gamma-Cyclodextrin 2-hydroxypropyl ethers |
CAS Registry Number | 128446-34-4 |
Main Use: Dissolve large molecules, such as cholesterol, for cell culture. Hydroxypropyl gamma-cyclodextrin is similar to betacyclodextrin, but can dissolve larger molecules. It can be used as an analytical reagent and also in the pharmaceutical industry.
Application: Recommended for higher value-added products, such as medicine, health care products, cosmetics and other special materials or hydroxypropyl -β-cyclodextrin is unable to include larger molecules. Storage: Stored in a cool and ventilated place, the storage period is two years.
After hydroxypropylization, the product hydroxypropyl -γ-cyclodextrin has a water solubility further increased to 80g/100ml(25ºC). At the same time, the hydroxypropylized γ-cyclodextrin is no longer a single pure product, but a mixture of multiple substitutions, which is not easy to form inclusion compounds when it is included with guest molecules. Overall, Hydroxypropyl - gamma-cyclodextrin has higher solubility in water and stronger resistance to crystallization. The solubility of γ-cyclodextrin in water is 23.2g/100ml(25ºC), and the solubility still limits its application in some cases. It is recommended for high value-added products, such as special materials such as medicine, health care products, cosmetics or large molecules that are unable to include hydroxypropyl -β-cyclodextrin.
