Zinc acetate dihydrate is a white monoclinic flake crystal with acicular luster, slightly acetic acid taste. Soluble in water and ethanol. When heated to 100°C, two crystalline waters are lost. Sublimation without decomposition when heated to 200°C under reduced pressure (19.997kPa). Low toxic.

Use:

Zinc acetate dihydrate, as a common transition metal salt, has been widely used in selective catalytic pyrolysis of biomass.

Used as catalyst for production of polyvinyl alcohol, dyeing mordant, pharmaceutical astringent, wood preservative, porcelain glaze and so on.
 

Reagents for analysis, determination of calcium and strontium, drip analysis of sodium, determination of hydrogen sulfide, precipitation to remove sulfur from sulfide, testing of protein, tannin, urobilin, phosphate and blood reagents.
