Sodium 8-(2-hydroxybenzoyl-octanoate), abbreviated SNAC, is a dicarbonate compound absorption accelerator used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, especially gastrointestinal diseases caused by the malabsorption of dicarbonate compounds.

 

Bioactive sodium Salcaprozate sodium (SNAC) is an oral absorption enhancer with potential as a delivery agent for oral forms of heparin. Salcaprozate sodium can increase the lipophilism caused by the complexation of non-covalent macromolecules, thus increasing the passive transcellular penetration of small intestinal epithelial cells.
