Ammonium thiocyanate is an inorganic, colorless crystal. Irritating, deliquescent, soluble in water and ethanol, soluble,almost insoluble.Its aqueous solution is blood-red when it meets iron salt solution, and it does not react when it meets ferrous salt. When the dry product is heated to 159 ° C, it does not decompose and melts, and when it is heated to 170 ° C, the molecules are transformed.

In the industrial sector. Used in the manufacture of cyanide thiocyanate, ferrocyanide is the auxiliary material for the production in the electroplating industry for galvanizing, in the printing and dyeing industry as a printing and dyeing diffusion agent, in the pesticide industry for the manufacture of herbicides and defoliants, such as  dicarboxylic acid and so on.
