Main Uses:

Microcrystalline cellulose (Microcrystallinecellulose, MCC) is a natural cellulose by acid hydrolysis to limit the product of the degree of polymerization, its color is white or almost white, odourless, tasteless, particle size is generally about 2 ~ 80 microns, It has the advantages of low density, high modulus, renewable, degradable, wide source, etc., and can be used as a reinforcing agent to improve the performance of composite materials.

 

Microcrystalline cellulose is mainly used as non-caloric food additives, pharmaceutical excipients and dispersants, thin-layer chromatography and column chromatography fillers, color carriers for dyes and pigments, thermosetting resins and thermosetting laminates of reinforcement fillers, coatings, emulsifiers, and can also be used in water-based paints and ceramics industry.

 

Many useful products can be derived from the esterification or etherification of hydroxyl groups in cellulose polymers.
