Main Uses:

The use and function of anhydrous copper sulfate
1, Industrial and chemical fields
Chemical raw materials: used for preparing copper salts such as cuprous chloride and copper pyrophosphate, and as copper ion additives in the electroplating industry. As a catalyst for synthesizing fragrances and dye intermediates in the organic industry, as well as a polymerization inhibitor for methyl methacrylate.

Printing and Electroplating: As a mordant in the printing and dyeing industry and an oxygen aid for precision dyed fabrics, it enhances the dyeing effect. It is used to adjust the concentration of copper ion in the solution and enhance the adhesion of the coating in the electroplating process.

Analytical reagents: Prepare solution B of Fehling reagent (for detecting reducing sugars) and Biuret reagent (for detecting proteins).

2, In the field of agriculture
Sterilization and insecticidal: Mix with lime water to produce Bordeaux mixture, which can prevent and control crop fungal diseases (such as rot). As an agricultural insecticide and water fungicide, it controls the growth of algae and microorganisms.

Feed additives: added in small amounts to livestock feed to supplement the trace elements needed by animals.

3, Food and medical related applications

Food processing: As a chelating agent and clarifying agent, it is used in Century egg production and wine production process.

Medical auxiliary use: Indirectly used for drug synthesis (such as catalysts or component carriers), without direct therapeutic function. Used in the laboratory for disinfecting surfaces of items or preparing auxiliary diagnostic reagents.

4, Environmental and educational purposes
Water treatment: used for sterilization and anti-corrosion of water bodies, and to inhibit excessive growth of algae.
Chemistry education: used as experimental materials for basic chemistry teaching demonstrations such as crystal formation and copper electroplating. Anhydrous copper sulfate will absorb water and turn blue (producing copper sulfate pentahydrate) when it comes into contact with water, and is commonly used in laboratory testing for moisture.
