The uses of 1,6-hexanediol are as follows:
1. Polyurethane field: as a chain extender or chain extender, it is used to synthesize polyurethane elastomers, foam plastics, adhesives, etc., significantly improving the mechanical strength, hydrolysis resistance and low temperature resistance of materials. By modifying polyester resin, the water resistance, heat resistance, and oxidation resistance of polyurethane elastomers are enhanced, making them suitable for industrial products such as automotive components and solid tires.
2. Polyester material: High performance polyester is prepared by reacting with dicarboxylic acid (such as terephthalic acid) for use in fibers, films, bottles, etc. Its low melting point and low viscosity properties optimize the synthesis process. Produce unsaturated polyester with excellent hydrolysis resistance, improve the adhesion and alkali resistance between resin and glass fiber.
3. UV Coatings and Resins: Used as active diluents or modifiers for UV cured coatings, reducing system viscosity and enhancing flexibility, hydrolysis resistance, and chemical resistance. As a curing agent or diluent in epoxy resin, it enhances impact strength, flexibility, and construction penetration.
4. Plasticizers and additives: Synthesize plasticizers with excellent volatility and migration resistance, widely used in plastics, rubber, and epoxy resins to improve material low-temperature resistance and stability. As a gelling agent or lubricant modifier, it enhances the thermal stability and processing performance of industrial products.
5. Pesticides and specialty chemicals: Used for synthesizing fine chemicals such as pyrethroids, organic peroxides, and cyclic musk. Participate in the production of special materials such as polyethylene plastic crosslinking agents and polyether rubber.
