NNMTi (CAS 42464-96-0) is a nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) inhibitor, which is an effective inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) (IC50=1.2 μ M) and can promote myoblast differentiation. NNMTi can selectively bind to NNMT substrate binding site residues. NNMTi can promote the differentiation of muscle cells in vitro, enhance the fusion and regeneration ability of muscle stem cells in elderly mice. NNMT is a fundamental cytosolic biotransformation enzyme that catalyzes the N-methylation of endogenous and exogenous foreign organisms. Compared with simple lean meat diet replacement, the combination of NNMTi treatment and lean meat diet replacement can accelerate the improvement of weight and fat loss, increase the ratio of lean meat mass to body weight, reduce the weight of white adipose tissue in the liver and epididymis, reduce liver fat deposition, and improve liver steatosis. In addition, NNMTi can increase strength and promote the regenerative ability of aging muscles, which may help treat muscle wasting.
