The primary uses of Monensin premix include:
1. Prevention and treatment of coccidiosis
It has a broad-spectrum anti coccidiosis effect on chicken (tender, toxic, giant, heap shaped, etc.), lamb, calf, and rabbit coccidiosis infections. By interfering with the sodium and potassium ion balance of the parasite, it causes the coccidiosis to swell and die, mainly affecting the first generation of schizonts after infection.
2. Promote the growth of ruminants
Regulate rumen microbial fermentation, increase propionic acid production, reduce methane production, improve feed energy utilization efficiency, and increase daily weight gain of beef cattle and sheep.
3. Auxiliary antibacterial effect
It has a certain inhibitory effect on Gram positive bacteria (such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus) and Streptococcus suis, but its antibacterial activity in vivo is weak and it is not used as the main antibacterial agent.
4. Joint application efficiency improvement
Combined use with zinc bacteriocins and erythromycin can improve feed conversion rate and animal weight gain rate.
