Chemical Property/Description:
1. Color: Pyrocatechol Violet is a green to dark green to brown powder.
2. Solubility: Pyrocatechol Violet is soluble in alcohol, ether, other organic solvents, but insoluble in water.
3. Stability: Pyrocatechol Violet is stable under light, but it will fade under weak alkaline and strong acidic conditions.
Pyrocatechol Violet has a metallic luster. Soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol, insoluble in non-polar solvents (such as ether, benzene, xylene). Its aqueous solution is yellow, and when the acidity increases, it turns from yellow to red, the solution above pH6 becomes purple, and the solution above pH9 becomes reddish-purple.
Main Uses:
