Main Uses:

 

Organic synthesis. Acetonitrile is commonly used as a solvent for organic synthesis, and its high polarity is suitable for dissolving and reacting a variety of organic compounds, such as amides, esters, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, etc.

The surface coating. Acetonitrile is used as a coating on metal and plastic surfaces and is able to quickly volatilize with certain components in solvents to form a uniform and adhesive film with anti-corrosion, scratch resistance and oxidation resistance.

Solvent extraction. As an effective solvent, acetonitrile is widely used in solvent extraction technology for the separation and extraction of organic compounds, such as drugs, pesticides, natural products, etc.

Gas chromatographic analysis. Acetonitrile is used for gas chromatographic analysis, can dissolve a variety of organic compounds, and the vapor pressure is moderate, not easy to mix in the gas chromatographic column.

Battery manufacturing. Acetonitrile is used as an electrolyte solvent for the preparation of lithium-ion batteries, lead-acid batteries and liquid flow batteries.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing. Acetonitrile plays an important role in pharmaceutical manufacturing as a solvent, crystal growth agent and crystal roughening agent, as well as in pharmaceutical purification and quality testing.

Paints and adhesives. Acetonitrile is used in the manufacture of coatings and adhesives as a diluent to give the coatings and adhesives the proper viscosity and fluidity.

Water treatment. Acetonitrile is used as a chlorine remover in the water treatment process and can react with residual chlorine to form harmless chlorides and purify water.

The fiber industry. Acetonitrile is used in the dissolution spinning process in the fiber industry to produce polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers. Research and experimentation. Acetonitrile is widely used in chemical research and laboratory practice for dissolving reagents, preparing solutions, and diluting samples.

Semiconductor cleaning agent. Acetonitrile is used as a semiconductor cleaning agent to remove grease, wax, fingerprints, corrosives and flux residues from silicon wafers.
