Properties:
1.3K2S2O3·5H2O=661.07, colorless rhombic crystal. When heated, it decomposes into potassium sulfide and potassium sulfate without melting. Soluble in water, the aqueous solution is weakly alkaline. In case of acid, it will decompose and release sulfur dioxide.
2.K2S2O3·1/2H2O=196.34, colorless monoclinic deliquescence crystal. The relative density is 2.590(anhydrous matter is 2.23), the crystal water is lost at 200ºC, and the decomposition is continued to be heated. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol. It is reductive. It is prepared by boiling potassium sulfite with sulfur.
