Ademetionine disulfate tosylate is a drug that improves cell metabolism. It can affect the fluidity and micro-viscosity of plasma membrane phospholipids and proteins through methylation, increase the levels of glutathione, sulfate and taurine in the liver, and has a therapeutic effect on liver cholestasis.
Ademetionine Disulfate Tosylate is a diastereoisomer of adenosine methionine ionin the combined form of bisulfate-toluene sulfonate. Ademetionine (adenosylmethionine) has anti-inflammatory activity and is used to treat chronic liver disease.
Ademetionine Disulfate Tosylate is the main biological methyl donor synthesized in all mammalian cells, but is the most abundant in liver.
Oral administration of Ademetionine to rats for 7 days will induce the activity of CYP450 subtype CYP1A2 and may inhibit the activity of CYP2D6, CYP3A4, CYP2C19 and CYP2C9.
