Main Uses:

 

Physical and chemical properties: white or white crystalline or crystalline powder, easily soluble in methanol, ethanol or ether, slightly soluble in hot water, almost insoluble in water, melting point (general rule 0612) : 96-99ºC.

Usage: Antibacterial preservative, widely used in cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical preparations. Hydroxypropyl ester can be used alone, or in combination with other parabens or other antibacterial agents; Hydroxypropyl ester is one of the most widely used preservatives in cosmetics. Hydroxyphenyl esters are effective in a wide pH range, have spectral antibacterial activity, and are most effective in inhibiting yeast and mold.
