Chemical Property/Description:
Brown green fine crystalline powder, soluble in ethanol, glacial acetic acid and alkali solution, yellow solution in acetic acid, red purple in dilute lye, slightly soluble in water,Maximum absorption wavelength 579(371)nm.
Main Uses:
Used as an acid-base indicator, there are two discoloration ranges, the first discoloration range pH 1.2(red) ~ 2.8(yellow), the second discoloration range pH 7.4(yellow) ~ 9.0(purple).
The main use of Cresol Purple is as a REDOX indicator for fresh tissue staining (such as tumor, nerve tissue, Nysch granules, blood, etc.)
The alkaline solution is purple, the weakly acidic solution is yellow, and the strongly acidic solution is pink.
