Triphenylphosphine oxide is white to yellow to tan powder, crystals or chunks , soluble in alcohol and benzene, slightly soluble in hot water, irritating.

Ph3PO, like POCl3, has a tetrahedral structure with an alkaline oxygen atom. The rigidity of its skeleton and the alkalinity of its oxygen atoms allow triphenylphosphine oxide to induce crystallization of compounds that are difficult to crystallize by other methods, especially for substances containing acidic hydrogen, such as phenols.

 

Main Uses:

 

Triphenylphosphine oxide can be used as organic synthesis and pharmaceutical intermediates, catalysts, extractants, etc., and also used in fluorescent anti-counterfeiting powder.

This product is mainly used as solvent, catalyst, corrosion inhibitor; It is also used in the synthesis of rubber accelerators and other fine chemicals, and as a polyurethane catalyst for the synthesis of aminobenzillin and hydroxybenzyl penicillin. N-methylmorpholine oxide can be produced by oxidation.
