- Appearance: Zinc acetate commonly comes in the form of a white crystalline solid, soluble in water.
- Chemical properties: Zinc acetate is relatively stable at room temperature, but will decompose at high temperatures to produce acetic acid and zinc oxide.

- Industrial use: Zinc acetate can be used as wood preservative, rubber accelerator and fiber dyeing aid.

Zinc acetate is mainly used as a catalyst for ethylene acetate, which can be used for the determination of sodium, hydrogen sulfide, protein reagents, chromatographic analysis reagents, mordant for polyester industry, etc. It can also be used as chromatographic analysis reagents, wood preservatives, fabric mordants, medical emetics and disinfectants.
