Purpose:
1.Indole is mainly used as a raw material for spices, dyes, amino acids, and pesticides. Indole itself is also a kind of spice, which is often used in daily essence formulations such as jasmine, lilac, lotus and orchid, and the dosage is usually a few thousandths.
2.Some indole derivatives include dyes, plant growth hormones, and pharmaceuticals. In the dye industry, it can be used to synthesize sulfur dyes, indigo blue dyes, and can also replace aniline to synthesize 1,3,5-trimethyldimethylindole, etc.
3. Some European manufacturers use indole to produce tryptophan, which is used for amino acid infusion or as a feed additive. Compared with lysine and methionine, tryptophan has much lower demand, but its importance is not inferior. In corn feed, the content of lysine, methionine, and tryptophan is relatively low. Currently, the world's corn production is about 400 million tons. If 0 The required quantities for 7% lysine, 0.3% methionine, and 0.1% tryptophan are 2.8 million tons, 140000 tons, and 400000 tons, respectively.
4. Indole is also used in the synthesis of plant growth regulators, such as indoleacetic acid and indole-butyric acid. It has been reported that indoleacetonitrile is 10 times more effective as a plant growth hormone than indoleacetic acid.
5.Chemical reagent: Indole is commonly used as a chemical analysis reagent, especially in organic synthesis for indolylation reactions and Fu Ke reactions.
6.Optical whitening agent: Indole is a component of some optical whitening agents used to whiten paper, textiles, plastics, etc.
