Chemical Property/Description:

An oily liquid with an aroma of popcorn, tortillas, fruit and bread. Melting point 65ºC, boiling point 95 ~ 105ºC(2000Pa), flash point 78ºC. Refractive index (nD20)1.5480. The relative density (d420) is 1.226.

Natural products are found in beef soup, etc.

Main Uses:

 

It is used in the preparation of triazolthiazoles, chiral alcohols and aldol polycondensation reactions, and is also an equivalent of α-hydroxypropanal β-anion.

Used to prepare cereal, popcorn, bread, meat flavor. The recommended dosage is about 0.2 to 1.4mg/kg in the final flavored food.
