A colorless or yellowish viscous oily liquid that can be oxidized to darken in air and has a pungent odor similar to phenol. The molecular weight is 150.22, the boiling point is 236-237 ºC, the melting point is 0.5 ~ 1ºC, the flash point is 100ºC, the relative density is 0.983, the refractive index is 1.5220.
1.Used as a spice. It is mainly used to prepare dill, eugenium, artemisia, meat, mint, vanilla essence and so on. Also used in food additives, feed additives, antioxidants, health fungicides, insect repellents, preservatives, deodorants, pharmaceutical intermediates.
2.Carvacrol can be used to prepare spices, fungicides and disinfectants, as a spice used in toothpaste, soap and other daily necessities, but also used as food flavor.
3.Carvacrol is also known as 2-para-cymol, isothymol, isothymol, isopropyl o-cresol. Natural products are found in thyme oil (about 70%), oregano oil (about 80%), and oregano oil. A colorless to yellowish, slightly viscous oil. In air and light, the color darkens. It has a Chemicalbook aroma, cool aroma, herb aroma, with a thymol like odor. Boiling point 238ºC, melting point 0.5 ~ 1ºC, flash point 100ºC. Soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, propylene glycol and alkali, insoluble in water. Mixed in oil. Evaporates with water vapor.
