Chemical Property/Description

White or light yellow powder. pH color range 9.3-10.5(colorless to blue).And it has a mild special smell. Soluble in ethanol  insoluble in water. Soluble in sulfuric acid appears red, soluble in dilute lye appears blue. Melting point 248-253ºC.
Thymolphthalein is prepared by condensation of thymol.
