8-Aminooctanoic acid, English name 8-aminooctanoic acid, white to slightly beige solid powder at room temperature and pressure, slightly soluble in water and alcohol organic solvents. 8-aminocaprylic acid is an unnatural amino acid, and the amino and carboxyl units at the end of the alkyl chain in its structure have good chemical conversion activity, which can be used in the preparation of carboxylic acid functional organic molecules with long alkyl chains. For example, it has been reported that this substance can be used in the preparation of oleanolic acid derivatives with anti-HIV activity.
