 Chemical Property/Description

Dark green glitter powder or particle. Soluble in cold and hot water, purple, highly soluble in ethanol. Reddish yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid, dark greenish light yellow when diluted, and then blue and purple. The sun fastness of dyed cotton fiber is 1-2, and the sun fastness of dyed acrylic fiber is 2-3.


 

Main Uses:

Can be used for dyeing, can also be made into color lake. In medicine, it is used as an antiseptic for dermatology.

1. Bacterial staining: Gentian Violet can be used for bacterial staining to help identify bacterial species and morphology, especially when identifying gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

2. Cell staining: Gentian violet can be used to stain the nucleus, make the nucleus purple, and help observe the nuclear structure and distribution.
