Chemical Property/Description
White to brown crystalline powder. Unstable to heat. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, ether. Colorless alkali solutions can be complexed with calcium, strontium, barium salts to produce purple or deep red, complexed with magnesium to pink, and complexed with heavy metals to colorless. Melting point 181 ~ 185ºC(decomposition). The maximum absorption wavelength is 575(377)nm. The product also has aqueous sodium salts, light pink powder. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, its water and acid solution is colorless, its alkali solution is purple blue.
Main Uses:
An indicator for complexing titration of magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium and SO42-; Reagent Reagent for the determination of serum calcium, chelating ion chromatography complex ligand of trace metal ions.
It can be used as biomaterials or organic compounds for life science related research.
