2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid is an important intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis and has a wide range of applications. Pyridine-2, 6-dicarboxylic acid occurs naturally in bacterial spores, but the amount is small, cannot meet the demand, and is not easy to extract. It is not conducive to industrial production and application, the earliest synthetic literature reported in 1Chemicalbook935, ALVIN.W. Seinger and S.M. vain of the University of Wisconsin to oxidiize 2, 6-dimethylpyridine under the condition of water as a solvent, with a yield of 64%.

It is generally prepared by oxidation of
2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid in industry.



Main Uses:

2,6-Pyridinedicarboxylic acid was released from the autoclaved killing of thermobacterium stearophilus spores. It induces the accumulation of chitosan-stabilized gold nanoparticles, causing the color of the solution to change from red to blue.

Used as a competitive inhibitor of bovine liver glutamate dehydrogenase.

Ligand complexes for preparation of lanthanum dipicolinato and transition metals.
